A Camera Shots Project

In my Media Studies class, we were given the task of creating a series of camera shots to tell an entire story, using just an inanimate object.

In the end, I was really happy with the shots that me and my friend made! Using crayola markers, we made a story about a grey marker who is sad about having no color. It was difficult to make so many camera shots of just markers, but the images turned out really nice. Color was an important theme in the story. I added some effects on the pictures to make the all of the colors stand out. The story reminded me of classic children’s books that personified objects to tell a story anyone could relate to. Because at the end, the grey marker becomes pink, and the moral of the story was about growth and self worth.

I think we did a very good job of using lighting and camera angles to add drama and capture emotion. And I am most proud of how creative the story was averall! We gave it meaning even though it was only about colorful markers. The only thing that I would have done differently: I think we could have done a better job of communicating what was going on in the story because you might not be able to fully understand without the descriptions.

HERE IS THE SLIDESHOW WITH THE PROJECT!
